Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

* Lead team to ensure top-tier design and technical standards across real estate portfolio through competition parameters, urban planning guidelines, and master planning standards.
* Maintain relationships with experts, evaluate design risks, and contribute to competitions as a jury member for impactful and innovative design outcomes.

Client Details

Our client is a Government Entity looking after various different real estate projects across Saudi Arabia.

Description

* Build and manage team to drive design and technical excellence for the entire real estate portfolio, building the right foundations, accelerating with digital processes, and enabling with AI, to drive rapid and sustained impact.
* Define the parameters to run design competitions (e.g., competition honorarium ranges, design timelines, pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ), jury setup requirements).
* Develop urban planning, master planning and design parameters to uplift standards of projects (incl. the minimum parameters and guidelines on sustainability).
* Develop and maintain the standard requirements for projects for different master planning stages, covering for example but not limited to:
- Different requirements for vision masterplan, concept masterplan, detailed masterplan.
- Standardized deliverables for projects to deliver against each master planning stage.
* Continuously screen and support onboarding of master planning and architectural firms, also consolidating and considering feedback from projects on master planners' and architects' work.
* Identify best practices from design exercises (incl. on sustainability), distill them into guidelines and share them across Portfolio teams to foster coherence and maximize synergies across portfolios.
* Support, when appropriate and in collaboration with Technical Leads, the review of Project specific master planning approaches, outcomes and if needed potential remediation actions, covering for example but not limited to: Mobility, Infrastructure and Utilities.
* Maintain relationship with architectural experts inside and outside of KSA and other development authorities (e.g., MOMRAH), to support in the review of designs
* As required, participate in design competitions for projects as Jury member
* Assess overall design project and identify potential design risks associated (e.g., related to site)

Requirements

* Experienced professional in design and technical with at least 20+ years of experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia or in the GCC.
* Past experiences in large construction-related/strategic consultant, contractor or development company is essential.
* Proven experience of managing large and complex real estate construction projects from a design and technical perspective in real estate and construction is essential.
* Success in leveraging digital and AI in the design and technical space for real estate is a big plus.
