Faithful+Gould are currently looking for an experienced Design Manager (Architectural) to form part of our Project Management Consultant (PMC) project team based on a large mixed use Development in Riyadh. The main objective of the PMC is to implement and manage the overall Development Programme, which includes infrastructure enhancement works, as well as retail mall and hospitality new build and refurbishment elements. The team shall be expected to assist the client in any way possible to ensure the Development is completed to the required timescales and within their stated budgets. The project is expected to last for up to 3 years for Phase 1, with an option for Phase 2 lasting a further 2-3 years also.

Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for managing the design process and technical compliance
- Report to the Programme Director on a regular basis on the progress, costs and quality of the package and obtain authority for any decisions/instructions required to ensure continuity in the design function
- Monitoring all work executed, at all stages, to ensure that an accurate and professional service is offered
- Professional interface with other disciplines, consultants and contractors
- Manage the quality and timeliness of service delivery
- Manage technical team resources
- Manage contractual deliverables resources in compliance with the clients requirements
- Manage adherence to the procedures described in the design manual
- Create a positive and proactive approach that drives the whole of the team
- Conduct team meetings and direct actions

Requirements

- Degree qualified in an architectural or engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer / RIBA qualified (or equivalent)
- Member of a recognised professional institution
- Minimum of 10 years in a similar senior position within the consultancy/construction industry
- Experience of multi discipline design projects, specifically within the architectural sector.
- Present evidence of multi-disciplinary team management
- Experience either within the Middle East or on the design of Middle East projects
- Detailed knowledge of applicable international design standards across the disciplines
- Experience of technical design software
- Demonstrable experience in and commitment to sustainable design
- Sound managerial and technical skill set
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- Ability to liaise with a wide variety of staff and clients at all levels essential

- Experience of technical reviews
- Experienced and technically excellent in design coordination.
