District Manager

Job description / Role

- Responsible for the execution of a broad range of sometimes complex tasks within established guidelines, standard operating procedures and defined processes and helps determine the appropriate approach for new assignments.
- Applies technical expertise in the analysis of factual information, brings a broader perspective to problems and adapts solutions, anticipates patterns and links; looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications.
- Shows business acumen beyond the team and understands how the team integrates with other teams and how they complement and support each other in order to achieve the shared objectives of the area.

Scope of People Responsibility:
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a technical or business support team to ensure team effectiveness.
- Contributes to the motivation, performance and development of the team through setting objectives, coaching employees, appraisal of performance and determination of reward outcomes.
- Uses sound interpersonal skills to exchange information and handle sensitive issues within own team and beyond.

Requirements

Requires secondary education and extensive additional training and qualifications (or equivalent) that includes a broader knowledge of concepts and procedures beyond the immediate discipline, how they sit within the business unit as a whole and how they relate to own discipline.

Requires extensive job experience (approximately 12?15 years as a guide) to acquire the level of proficiency that enables the jobholder to apply and consolidate specialist skills and knowledge, to ensure essential procedures are followed and/or to help to define the standards and specifications around which others will operate.

Requires substantial experience in supervising a team.
