Economist Expert

Job description / Role

Our client is a world leading International Engineering Consultant with almost 70 years of delivering engineering, construction, technical, and management services with revenues of $2.7 billion in 2010.

They are currently looking for an Economist Expert to work in Saudi Arabia.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides economic data, prepares interpretative reports, and provides leadership for the Ministry of Housing (MOH), use of economic data and adaptation of economic models. Communicates the results of economic studies to the MOH and sets guidelines for economic strategies.
- Understands the macro and micro economic environment and its impact on the MOH. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks assigned by the Minister.
- Provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.
- Marketing and advertising techniques.
- Various computer programs and database techniques.
- Pertinent federal, state and local laws.
- Real estate and business law principles.
- Activities involved in developing vacant parcels of land.
- Methods and practices of tax increment financing.
- Various federally funded programs.
- Budgets, budget policies and financial statements.
- Principles of economic and industrial development

Requirements

- Masters in related discipline with more than 15 years of experience. Ph.D in the field of economics will be preferred
- Reading and interpreting laws, government documents, construction documents and financial statements.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Working independently with minimal supervision.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Interpreting, applying, explaining and enforcing applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Defining issues, collecting and analyzing pertinent data, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, drawing valid conclusions, proposing sound recommendations, and implementing approved solution in support of goals
