The project:

This is an opportunity to work on a large new build airport, that will set a global benchmark for aviation experience and aims to attract 120 million passengers by 2030 in Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary:
• The Environmental Manager will be responsible to oversee environmental compliance, implement the Environmental Strategy, and support design and construction phases to ensure alignment with Saudi environmental regulations, ISO 14001, and IFC standards.
• This role emphasizes the integration of environmental assessments, monitoring, and data analysis to uphold environmental quality and sustainability targets within the airport development projects.

You’ll be responsible for:
• Lead and manage environmental compliance, monitoring, and quality assurance for all development phases, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001, NCEC, and IFC standards.
• Conduct and oversee environmental surveys, assessments, and compliance activities, including SEA/ESIA, to support sustainable design and construction practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary environmental permits efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Facilitate environmental training and provide expert advice to design, construction teams, and tenants on environmental requirements and best practices.
• Manage and analyse environmental data, report on sustainability performance, and integrate ESIA and SEA recommendations into project designs.
• Coordinate with consultants for environmental reporting and analysis to meet regulatory compliance.
• Engage actively in project meetings, promoting environmental awareness and compliance across all development stages.

Requirements

You’ll need to have:
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/ programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Additional certification in ISO 14001 is desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of postgraduate experience in environmental management, preferably with Middle East project exposure.
• Proven experience with engagement with NCEC and delivering ESIA.
• Proficient in GIS and other environmental software tools, with advanced computer literacy for data management and project coordination.
