Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Monitors implementation of department policies and procedures.
- Suggest and implement Internal Controls and risk management over financial transactions and processes.
- Ensures compliance with adhering to the international standards of accounting and International Financial reporting Standards through Chief Accountant.
- Reviews, analyzes, and approves all accounting reports from different sections of the department prior to release through the proper reporting channels.
- Ensure the correctness of the reports before submitting to the external parties such as Partners and Bankers.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling of all financial activities within the organization ensuring costs are within the company-wide established operational budgets.
- Provides timely, complete, and accurate financial statements such as Income Statement, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, MIS and other related accounting reports prepared by Chief Accountant needed periodically by the management for decision-making.
- Verifies and signs all payment and receipt vouchers along-with Chief Accountant.
- Counter-sign cheques (as authorized by Group Management).
- Coordinates with Human Resources Department on recruitment of staff to be assigned in his/her department.
- Implements yearly performance appraisal system to Finance Department employees to ensure employees effectiveness and work performance within the expected level of standards; and to assess the employees’ development needs (by focusing on weakness).
- Recommends to the Finance Review Committee for introduction of new or modification of existing policies related to Finance Department.
- Communicates side-ways to employees under supervision on case to case basis (may render individual counseling) and regularly holding meeting with them at least once in a month to discuss problems encountered in the execution of their work.
- Coordinate with Human Resources Department in the conduction of new employees’ orientation program by presenting Finance Department during the orientation program.
- Is responsible for Finance Department yearly manpower budget requirements including every department in the Group for monitoring of costs.
- Supervises appropriate utilization of manpower and other resources to its optimum effectiveness within Finance Department.
- Manages daily operations by distributing workloads to assigned employees; assuring manpower and utilities are fully provided and utilized according to department needs in timely manner.
- Provides administrative supervision to all levels of staff assigned in the department.
- Identifies Finance Department problems on the basis of reports received from department heads with their appropriate recommendations, calls for meeting with concerned department head (that may include staff involved) to take appropriate decision and action (including correction of errors identified in the meeting process).
- Attends to scheduled or unscheduled meetings to discuss and resolve problems including the company-wide committee meetings where his attendance is necessary.
- Performs other related duties necessary to effect service efficiency.
- Collaborates with Corporate Office in developing Finance Department policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant (in some cases CA Finalist can be appointed with approval from corporate office).
- 7 years minimum experience (5 years as Accountant plus 2 years in managerial) or its equivalent position from a reputable organization.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental rules and directives related to business administration, clear in giving instructions and interpreting procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of New City organization.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other useful software. ERP implementation experience will be a add-on quality.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally or in writing, analyze diagram or schedule form.
- Proficiency in English.
