Finance Manager - Arabic Speaker

Job description / Role

We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager - Arabic speaker based in Al Khobar with responsibility for the overall management of the finance function. The role is very 'hands-on' and the successful candidate will be involved in the period-end close process in addition to the financial management and performance reporting of the Saudi Arabia business unit.

The role will require strong financial support and application of accounting governance; experience from a manufacturing environment is a key requirement.

The individual will ensure compliance with local Saudi Arabia legal and regulatory requirements and will need to become familiar with U.S. GAAP reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the overall accounting operations including cost accounting (project accounting), general ledger, financial reporting and budgeting.
* A key requirement and business objective is to ensure debt is minimized on an ongoing basis.
* Monthly performance reports are prepared to quality and timetable including flash updates, forecasting and expense tracking, manufacturing accounts.
* Responsible for statutory and management reporting and responsible for internal financial control and ensure compliance with the company's Financial Standards.
* Ensure books are kept in accordance to Saudi Arabia local statutory requirements and compliance to U.S. GAAP for consolidation.
* Lead and facilitate the implementation of improvements in processes and procedures.
* Communicate with internal and external auditors, tax and government authority to minimize related financial exposure.
* Support the General Manager with regards to financial reporting, forecasting and budget preparation & submission to timetable.
* Identify business and contract (project) issues as they arise and highlight to management for review, action and resolution.
* Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and contract management & reporting is a key requirement.

Requirements

* Must be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent)
* Minimum Bachelor of Accountancy degree from a reputable University
* Must have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a MNC, preferably in the manufacturing industry, oil & gas industry experience would be considered an advantage.
* Familiarity with the Middle East regulatory, statutory and tax compliance requirements and U.S. GAAP would be considered an advantage.
* The successful candidate must possess good computer skills.
* Knowledge of ERP system (SAP) is a must
* Ideally an Arabic speaker
