Due to continued success in the country we are now seeking an experienced Fire Fighting & Protection Engineer for Maritime Shipyard Development Project in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

Maritime Yard is located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City and will cover a proposed area of 4,100m by 1,200m. Maritime Yard is envisioned to be a world class maritime location providing a combination of New Ship Buildings, and MRO facilities(Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) including Very Large Crude Carrier Capabilities (VLCC). The principal assets for Maritime Yard will be the Dry Docks, Wharfs, Piers and Cranes.

Fire Fighting & Protection Engineer will hold the following responsibilities and duties:
- Delivering the system Safety Case Report for the Programme.
- Delivering to the schedule of activity that covers the SEL scope of work and ensuring Team performance and progress is managed and accurately reported.
- The resource demand is sufficient to deliver the safety schedule
- The safety budget is managed against the plan controlling dependencies with other schedules.
- Supporting the risk management process and managing SEL mitigations.
- Legislation & environmental compliance.
- Defining the appropriate design maturity across the SV platforms for SEL at all major programme milestones.
- Maintenance and management of safety case, hazard log (eCassandra), metrics and action logs.
- Manage the lifecycle of internal and external SEL artefacts
- Proactive engagement with internal and external engineering teams to ensure design for safety and pull through of evidence into the safety case.
- Leading SEL related stakeholder reviews including the programme and joint safety and environmental committee meetings.
- Act as the main point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on safety engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues.

Requirements

- Has managed the development and sign off (acceptance) of a safety case report through its maturation cycle for a complex platform or system in land, sea or air domains
- Working knowledge of current safety management requirements
- Use of safety analysis techniques and tools (FMECA, FFA, FTA, ETA, GSN, Cassandra)
- Able to perform robust analysis using recognized analytical tools (examples above) and to make sound judgments based on experience
- Has an understanding of vehicle or complex systems design requirements with regard to safety legislation, standards and policies
- Proven engineering leadership and management competence
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- An ability to support multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Ability to challenge design decisions and influence design for safety
- Educated to first degree (BSc) level in an engineering, science or mathematics discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of CPM scheduling and EVM controls methodologies is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of shipbuilding production workflow for all trades is plus.
