Overview

We are seeking a Fire Protection Advisor to join the Eastern Region Fire Protection Department. The Eastern Region Fire Protection Department is responsible for providing an effective fire & rescue, and training services to company organizations, and as necessary including out of company premises. Besides the fundamental roles of fire extinguishment, saving life and property, and rescue during emergencies; it also offers guidance and technical advice on all matters relating to the development of emergency response plans, comprehensive review and evaluation of fire equipment designs, specifications, installations, inspections and maintenance.

The Fire Protection Advisor primary role is to provide advice on all aspects of fire operations, evaluation of equipment, and advices on fire command, administration, and personnel development; evaluates and reports on existing specialized emergency equipment, tactical operational procedures, on the job training, and emergency response capability for Fire Protection Department concerning hazardous materials response, fire truck operations; and prepares written documentation with respect to technical assignments, specifications and management of fire protection services. Incumbent works on a day shift and responds to fires or other emergencies as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical support during incidents/drills and investigations within the assigned area as required.
- Perform mentoring and coaching activities to develop fire protection team.
- Performs as primary advisor to Department and Divisions Heads on fire administration, operation matters, procedures, fire prevention programs, training and equipment maintenance.
- Performs as necessary the evaluation of field activities, operations, submits reports and recommendations.
- Participates in Committees, task forces and subsequent reviews related to department business, emergency planning programs including emergency response plan, pre-fire plans and major exercises; and enforces compliance of company and department safety policies and procedures.
- Provides help in planning and implementing company and public fire safety education programs.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in either of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Fire Protection Engineering; or Emergency Management; or closely related majors and disciplines from a recognized and approved program. A candidate with an advanced degree is an advantage.

You will have ten years of experience in the Fire Service and Training.

Other requirements:
- You must have sound working knowledge of chemistry concerning fire and hazardous materials, hydraulics standards and codes such as NFPA.
- You must have good knowledge related to emergency management firefighting and rescue operation in hydrocarbon facilities .
- A Valid Driver's License is preferred.
