Our client is a leading investment holding group in the food and retail sectors throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey regions and their offices are based in KSA. They are seeking a Head of Commodity Research & Risk Management (CRRM Director) to join their Jeddah, KSA headquarters.

The main purpose of this position is to provide insightful market reading of the firms strategic commodities (edible oils, sugar, wheat, etc.), and to make recommendations using Commodity Research whilst pricing these commodities to help reduce buying costs, while at the same time managing the exposure to international price fluctuations using Risk Management.

Key responsibilities will include:
• To provide proper recommendations for strategic raw materials. Recommendations are based on generating buying signals using: Decision Support System (DSS); price forecasting models; and trading algorithms that incorporate both technical and fundamental analyses.
• To continuously improve and update the DSS, price forecasting models and trading algorithms
• To implement statistical and technical models for forecasting prices which support the generation of buying signals for these commodities such as ARIMA and Neural Network models.
• To Supervise and guide the daily work and projects carried out by subordinates on the preparation of market dynamic reports and implementation of the DDS/trading systems etc.
• To master hedging tools for Agriculture Commodities including futures, options and OTCs.
• To assess the risks of commodities’ markets whether carry or inverted for forward coverage, rolling the prices, spread locking, etc.
• To be fully aware of Macro and Micro Economics impacts on business risk including government intervention and consumer behaviour.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally be a Saudi national, and must possess experience in risk management and hedging. A minimum of 8 years’ hands-on experience in international commodities markets trading with international firms and superior analytical skills, statistical tests, fundamental and technical analysis of vegetable oils and related commodities.

A university degree, preferably in any science field is desirable and computer skills in Excel, SPSS and MS Access.
