Head of Contracts

Job description / Role

Our Client, a leading international main contractor is seeking a Head of Contracts to join them in their Head Office based in KSA.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and advising on contractual conditions of contract (FIDIC) protecting the companies Construction’s interest at all times. Advising on tender reviews, cost and contract management, monitoring of contract costs and cost control, negotiation of claims with contractors and the preparation of contractual correspondence pertaining to work winning opportunities in the following sectors:
- Transportation and Infrastructure
- Heavy Civils
- Buildings & Factories
- Power Transmission & Distribution
- Water & Renewable Energy
- Rail

- A pro-active approach in the review of contract documentation, advising on risk and opportunities
- To review all contractual aspects of projects.
- Advises on the most efficient method of achieving commercial program objectives.
- Reviews tendering processes to ensure best practice.
- Ensure commercial compliance with all procurement processes and procedures.
- Review commercial aspects of the contract(s) with the focus on risk and value.
- Providing contractual advice on the contracts, monitoring and drafting contractual correspondence.
- Advising on variations, claims, interim payments and final accounts.
- Providing support on tender preparation, contract administration, contractual advice, claims management and arbitration.

Requirements

- Have a proven track record of contracts management gained with a major contractor / cost consultancy.
- Proven contractual administration skills at a senior level gained on Joint Ventures.
- Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, coupled with the ability to implement and manage effective controls.
- Competent financial management skills.
- Extensive knowledge on contracts (FIDIC), claims management and arbitration.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a contract / commercial capacity
- Previous KSA experience
