Head of Support Services (VP) - Rail - Riyadh

To lead and direct the effective management of the Support Services business unit. Provide strategic direction and operations management for all Support Services including Supply Chain, HR & Admin, IT, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Legal. Align SLA services for all departments with a view of optimizing costs and delivering superior quality service.

Description

Head of Support Services (VP) - Rail

Strategic Contribution:

* Contribute as a member of the Executive team to the overall management and direction of the company, to ensure that clear short, medium and longer-term goals and objectives are established, communicated and achieved to optimize business results and returns to shareholders
* Develop and gain agreement to the overall business strategy for the Support Services business unit, and communicate and oversee implementation of that strategy
* Maintain a network of internal and external contacts to ensure has support to meet its overall goals and overcome its challenges
* Direct the development and implementation of policies covering all areas of responsibility to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled and to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations

Health, Safety, Environment:

* Provide leadership and direction to ensure all company safety, health and environment objectives are met or exceeded in coordination with the HSE Department
* Ensures that all safety and emergency plans relating to Support Services are prepared and implemented successfully when needed

Budgeting & Cost Control:

* Provide leadership and direction to the preparation of the Support Services overall budget, and approve as well as gain acceptance of the budget from the CEO and Board of Directors
* Monitor Support Services financial performance versus the approved budget, anticipating budget overruns, highlighting areas of unsatisfactory performance, and capitalizing on potential performance improvement opportunities

Organizational Development and People Management:

* Suggest and carry out organizational structure changes for the Support Services business unit to ensure that work is optimally organised, resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient and effective manner
* Direct the recruitment and development of functional staff, ensuring that all functions are staffed with individuals of the required calibre and that there is adequate succession planning
* Lead and motivate personnel to have a positive and gratifying work experience, developing pride in their work, and in turn offering loyalty, productivity, and quality

Requirements

Basic Qualification

* University degree in Business or equivalent Advanced

Qualification

* MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree preferred

Minimum Experience

* Minimum 18 years of relevant experience

Specific/ Relevant Experience

* Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the railroad or transportation industries, demonstrating career success with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
