Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Junior Engineer to manage the installation of a section of the works by gaining more on-field experience with expenditure gained of technical knowledge, short term planning and management of Foreman, Labour, equipment, and materials. Maintain a progressive and positive attitude within the site teams and uphold and maintain high quality and efficiency outputs.

Core Job Functions
• To ensure that the site teams comply with the relevant Program, Material Schedules, Drawings and general Engineering. Current Drawing Register be applied at all times.
• To maintain current Health and Safety policy at all times ensuring employees are adhering to the construction rules and procedures – carry out Toolbox Talks and maintain DSTI records daily & weekly.
• To record the relevant installation rates and periods and manage the relevant performance requirements of Foreman & Staff. (Time & Motion/Cost Versus Allowable). Apply the 6 week look-ahead to the overall labour requirements and update management.
• To oversee production and monitor progress, highlighting any areas of concern and utilising the Foreman’s progress report to carry out weekly progress updates.
• To interpret design drawings to plan and prepare for construction works making sure that access certificates have been issued by the Main Contractor prior to works commencing.
• Prepare the site and install the relevant Civil/Fit out/Electro-Mechanical systems as per the site drawings ensuring works are marked up as required, duties to cover the full aspect and scope requirements and coordinate as-built information with Foreman/Charge-Hands. Daily Constraints Register to be compiled and issued to relevant Site Engineer/Construction Manage
• Make sure that the daily DSTI's are issued, understood and signed off by the Tradesmen that have sat through the session. The DSTI must include for all relevant safety and operating operator requirements and must be relevant to the works that are being carried out during the day.
• Make sure that the site areas are kept clean, and materials are stored and controlled in a safe and efficient manner. Material wastage must be kept to a minimum and excess materials returned to the stores. Material draw down requirements must be sourced 24 hours before the relevant works are carried out on site. These schedules must be based on the MTO's.

Requirements

• Applicable Trade Apprenticeship completion/Technical College Diploma.
• Working knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
