Employment: Full Time

- To deliver a high technical and professional level of service to our customers worldwide, with significant focus on safety and quality.
- Oversee multiple sites in parallel and assist SEL commissioning engineers with technical issues that may arise.
- Lead SEL commissioning team at site and manage contractors and end user.
- Oversee, ensure quality, and provide onsite technical assistance to customers during the installation and commissioning, warranty, service, repair and maintenance of SEL power management systems.
- Document and report malfunctions and identify/analyze any undesirable trends.
- Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
- Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in electric power system protection and/or automation.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system protection and automation.
- Provide regular communication to SEL and customer project management, engineering, and support groups regarding all commissioning activities and problems through regular, timely reports.
- Continuously identify, measure and improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, electronics or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of field commissioning experience
- Demonstrated engineering experience in the commissioning and testing of automation and control systems.
- Experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of problems associated with control systems, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA packages
- Working knowledge of modern electrical test and measurement equipment
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics and microprocessors
- Strong customer service, communications, and organizational skills
- Ability to work non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions
- Ability to travel globally up to 80%
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using SEL products
- Familiarity with the commissioning and testing of electric power substations, secondary systems, and protective relays
