Location: Saudi Arabia (Western)

A leading provider of Power and Water in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Thermal Power and Desalination Plant in KSA.

Through it 3 sections (Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation & control) the maintenance department provides full technical maintenance support and corresponding administrative, managerial and supervisory functions to all operating units at the plant site. This is to ensure efficiency, reliability and availability of all plant equipment. These are done through systematic:
- Preventative maintenance to avoid failures, unnecessary production loss and safety violations
- Corrective maintenance when an item/equipment has failed or worn out to bring it back to working order
- Reliability centered maintenance

Objectives: Manages the department – plan, organize, manage, coordinate and controls the department strategies and programs procedures and technical approaches; develops, plans and schedules the short and long term programs to optimize the plant availability.

- Manages the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation
- Manages development of maintenance operating plan includes objectives, goals and actions. Manages development of maintenance budget and monitor the expenditures for cost control
- Ensures the periodic and preventative maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed
- Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measureable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management
- Directs, maintains and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians
- Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
- Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance etc.

Requirements

- University graduate/Bachelors’ degree in engineering (Mechanical, electrical etc.)
- Masters’ degree preferred but not essential
- Strong knowledge in thermal power plant and desalination equipment and maintenance (Conventional heat generation, materials & processes, industrial machines and equipment, maintenance, occupational health and safety, quality)
- At least 10 years of related professional experience with a minimum of 5 years in managerial capacity
- Work experience in maintenance of power plant equipment, boiler/turbine and auxiliaries, spare parts identification and management, planning & scheduling of maintenance
- Strong leadership (planning, organizing, multi-level communication) and technical writing skills
