Roles And Responsibilities

Summary:

- Responsible for planning, supervision and coordination of design and construction projects from space programming to completion. Manages, directs, coordinates and monitors activities of Architecture Section.
- Provides expert consultation in Architecture.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

- Communicates with the KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) Departments at various levels to discuss and identifies needs and requirements.
- Evaluates design project requests.
- Monitors and provides overall supervision for all design projects.
- Prepares bi-weekly progress/status reports on all assigned design projects.
- Reviews design concepts and performs final checks on all project documents ensuring compliance with all recognized standards.
- Coordinates with clients, contractors and other design professionals without supervision in presentations, proposals, filed work and technical problem solving.
- Oversees and approves design and drafting standards.
- Prepares schematic, coloured presentations, for design projects, preliminarily and working drawings using computer software.
- Prepares outline specifications for architectural and civil work.
- Prepares technical specifications for Bill of Quantities and reviews bid documents.
- Reviews, recommends modification and approval of contractor's submittals of shop drawings, samples and substitutions.
- Reviews proposal of Change Orders and substitutions.
- Performs progress monitoring and quality assurance reviews. Supervises construction as required.
- Assists in resolving complex technical problems and coordinates problem resolution.
- Evaluates staff performance and counsels for enhanced performance.
- Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
- Participates in self and other's education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education, Experience and Other Requirements:

- Education : PHD, Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering or
- other related discipline is required.
- Experience Required : Four (4) years of related experience with a PhD or seven (7) years with Master's Degree or nine (9) years with Bachelor's Degree in Architectural
- Engineering is required.

Other Requirements (Certifications) :

- Knowledgeable of NFPA codes and International hospital design standards. Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Primavera and/or
- Microsoft Projects and other presentation software.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Proven record in the design of large scale health care facilities and construction supervision.
- Non-Saudi Engineers must obtain minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Saudi Council of Engineers license is required.
