Job description / Role
Working within the Estimation team with a busy MEP Contractor, you will be responsible for the all the Estimation, Cost and Rate analysis for Projects. With a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 5 or more years experience in an Estimation role specialising in either Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing and Fire Fighting within buildings, you will be keen to transfer your skills and ambitious for a long term future with a solid company.
THE ROLE
- Prepare Bill of Quantities, Estimation and Cost and Rate analysis
- Prepare contract documents, input into tenders
- Produce quantity take offs from drawings
- Negotiate with suppliers and sub contractors and provide information that will enable them to provide accurate quotes
- Prepare definition of scope of work
- Calculate a final figure for the cost and suggest best price for winning tenders and maximising profit
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Familiar with international standards
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Projects
- Able to read and understand tenders and input into final bid
- Experience of estimating for electrical and mechanical systems for diverse projects – High Rise, Hotels, Hospitals, Residential and Commercial Buildings
- Familiar with international building standards
- Familiar with local suppliers and market rates
- Able to perform quantity take offs from drawings
- Good team working and communication skills
- Fluent in English
