ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Principal duties are to manage the Technical Department personnel on duty, prioritise jobs and programme daily work for AVIT Engineers, MEP Technicians, Safety Officers, Storekeeper/Handyman and Helpdesk Operators
• The Senior Technician will monitor the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment essential to the day-to-day operation of a private estate and oversee the repairs and maintenance conducted by contractors
• The Senior Technician will observe and report on the state of repair of buildings, plant and machinery and assign tasks to be conducted by the Technical Department staff or outside contractors, through coordination with the Helpdesk Operator and the duty 2IC
• The Senior Technician will be responsible for monitoring the operations of Technical Department personnel and outside contractors with specific attention to the quality of work for the estate's on-going functional and aesthetic improvements
• Also acts as an assistant to the 2IC and provides support to Hill Robinson Estates on-site personnel with respect to maintenance issues, documentation, client and contractor interface, equipment sourcing and purchase, movement and storage of goods and all aspects of site logistics
• Carry out routine inspections of the buildings, services and equipment. Report on repairs and maintenance requirements, by utilising experience and understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry, paintwork, general building and landscaping

• Manage a team of up to 10 engineers and technicians for the efficient completion of day-to-day departmental tasks. Understand the areas of expertise of each team member and assign duties according to their capabilities
• Offer advice and training to less experienced members of the team and organise staff to work together where there is an opportunity to experience to be passed on
• Urgently respond to alarms and breakdowns and coordinate required remedial action, which may include firefighting, emergency shut-downs or personnel evacuation
• Consult with relevant personnel on specific tasks. Organise, oversee and assist with coordination of contractors and Hill Robinson Estates personnel for routine repairs and maintenance and minor construction work
• Work closely with the 2IC and MEPs to programme repairs and maintenance, and prioritise resources to ensure all buildings, services, machinery, vehicles and associated equipment are in optimum operational condition
• Support the Chief Technical Officer and the Technical Department with the production of operational documents and manuals, including standard operating procedures, checklists and forms
• Monitor the Technical Department’s inventory in coordination with the Storekeeper/Handyman and assign tasks as appropriate
• Write weekly progress updates for incorporation by the Chief Technical Officer and 2IC into the Technical Department weekly report to the client
• Liaise directly with Department Heads to provide support for coordination with other departments for correction of unresolved issues
• Implement, monitor, and comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy and recognised good working practices. Ensure that all personnel under your management are fully trained, equipped and compliant
• Always set an example with respect to regulations regarding dress code and expected modes of behaviour and ensure all Technical Department staff comply
• Assist the management and other Hill Robinson Estates personnel in such other matters as may be reasonably required

Requirements

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
• Trade Qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Construction
• Able to oversee construction works and manage projects independently
• Experience with overseeing a maintenance team – able to oversee construction works and manage projects independently
• Knowledge of best practices for construction – electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and general construction, with an eye for detail and workmanship
• Ability to oversee maintenance and construction work performed by external contractors
• Excel / Word / Email skills – comfortable with using spreadsheets for tasks such as basic calculations, communicating project needs and requirements, maintenance lists and similar basic admin
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential
• Experience of writing documentation for compilation of manuals and management systems
• Several years of experience on cruise ships, large private yachts, luxury hotels or large privates estates
• Non smoker preferred and no visible Tattoos
