Detecon is looking to strengthen the Middle East team with experienced consultants – on a temporary basis (until March 2021, with a prospect of extension) - in the area of technology strategy, with focus on networks (fixed and mobile) for the telecommunications industry. Extensive experience within the telecommunications sector is key for this role.

Job description
• Develop technology strategies covering potentially all relevant areas of a telco network (mobile, fixed, transport, etc.), including emerging technologies, whilst coordinating with other consultants and with subject matter experts (SMEs)
• Ensure vertical alignment of technology strategies with corporate and commercial strategies, including their relevant business units
• Ensure cohesiveness of technology strategy across domains
• Ensure coherence and simplicity of strategies for ease of implementation. Supervise and translate strategic objectives into implementation initiatives, roadmaps, KPI's, owners, budgets and project portfolio charters
• Integrate financial plans with the developed strategy and ensure financial viability
• Manage with ad hoc requests, specifically management requests for input on strategic topics
• Manage the competitive intelligence gathering processes ensuring that technology strategies incorporate the latest industry trends and knowledge
• Socialize and present the technology strategy and its action plan to different technical and non-technical stakeholders within client organizations (Telco’s)

Requirements

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or Information Technology (preferred)
• Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering or Information Technology (preferred)
• 10+ years of combined relevant experience
• Extensive experience in telecommunications sector technologies such as fixed, mobile, and cloud, from a strategic and architectural point of view
• Familiarity with the latest telecommunications trends and technologies (e.g. 5G NFV/SDN, Fiber, legacy migration, IoT, etc.) and ability to follow the latest industry trends and technical developments
• Ability to guide, coach, challenge, and advise SME's working as part of daily activities
• Strategic knowledge combined with the ability to dive deep if required
• Business understanding capabilities and ability to create an end to end link between strategies from different domains
• Ability to challenge, steer, and drive the team in the right direction
• Able to structure problems logically, test hypotheses and draw convincing conclusions
• Strong presentation and presentation development skill set
• A clear and concise communicator work both verbally and with written material
• Strong leadership skills , someone who can drive and motivate the team
• Excellent English skills
