Our client is a mobile telecommunications company with a single distributor telecommunications concept that provide telecommunications services across Saudi Arabia. As a subsidiary of a major conglomerate of companies since 2005, the firm specialize in the sale of telecom product, stores as well as fleet management solutions. The firm is one of the largest telecommunications firms in Saudi Arabia and employ 150+ staff with over 30 retail outlets across Saudi Arabia. Our client now seeks to recruit an Operations Manager – E-commerce to their firm to drive, lead and manage a new channel market for the existing business model that will position and retail on line markets to become a leading E-commerce retailer in the next 3 years.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a key member of the leadership team, the focus of this role is to utilize data-mining expertise in analysing data from large pre-existing databases in order to generate and increase new revenue retail streams.

Responsibilities include:
- Executing a detailed business plan for a new E-commerce portal for Saudi Arabia including development of the business model and revenue streams and developing and executing the E-commerce roadmap.
- Developing the strategy for building a world class on-line website including data mining analysis. Data-mining will enable data analysis, categorization, summarizing of relationships identified and yielding of information that reflects product sales and buying patterns.
- Driving data-mining and customer analytics to understand and increase revenue.
- Leading, developing and managing the E-commerce team including setting and achieving budget, revenue and profit targets.
- Building attractive redemption and reward schemes as well as conversion algorithms between members of the program.
- Driving all aspects of the e-Commerce activity on the website including the operational strategy, reporting operations, infrastructure, merchandising, fulfilment and customer service.
- Building strategic alliances with merchant partners and distribution partners
- Specify e-Commerce requirements by conducting market research, analysing competitors, and maintaining a strong understanding of best in class website UI design.
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies to optimize the customers buying process, website presentation and customer satisfaction.
- Drive strategic and daily execution for analysing and merchandising the e-commerce program while adhering to company branding and marketing strategies.
- Identify industry best practices in e-Commerce and build vendor relationships.
- High-level understanding of fulfilment and supply-chain logistics associated with building and running an enterprise class e-Commerce fulfilment operation.
- Assisting with filter and merchandise large product catalogues (totalling hundreds of thousands of part numbers) across multiple countries, including defining and creating tools to optimize the process.
- Assist in the selection of featured products and editorial themes for the home page, emails and other customer facing communications.
- Optimize the customer on-line experience, drive sales profitability and partner with support functions throughout the company that influence on-line performance and results.
- Ensures effective communication of all e-Commerce initiatives, resulting in consistent understanding of the reasons for, direction of, and expected results of each project. Acts as focal point for progress reporting on key initiatives, including timely updates.
- Analyse and integrate feedback from Customer Service and customer research into site functionality and product presentation requirements.

Requirements

- Degree in Commerce with a MBA being highly regarded.
- A minimum 10+ years of senior management experience with a leading and internationally recognized company within the telecommunications sector is essential with experience in a mobile E-commerce ecosystem and the ability to profitably grow e-Commerce sales within the confines of a multi-channel enterprise.
- Candidates must have experience in building an international e-Commerce platform and catalogue strategy and have a proven track record in building and managing a profit and loss.
- Candidates must possess superior knowledge of data-mining.
- Ideally this candidate will be familiar with loyalty points systems and conversion mechanism.
- The self-starter we seek must be adaptive, resourceful, influential and entrepreneurial.
- Candidates must be commercially astute and possess solid project management skills.
- This role requires an inspirational leader that will be a critical change agent and provide insight to drive a new business model within the existing business.
- Demonstrated experience managing on-line campaigns development
- Strong creative skills, with the ability to develop messaging that cuts through the noise, articulates a clear and unique value proposition and sticks.
- Experience handling multiple, concurrent projects and tasks with sometimes complex information-technology requirements.
- Experience with Order Management, Warehousing and Fulfilment System.
- Experience analysing and interpreting consumer insights and translating qualitative and quantitative data into product features that move the needle on identified KPIs.
- Knowledge of on-line marketing trends, analytics and emerging tactics.
