Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Kentz, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group have a current requirement for a Project Engineer to be based Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
- Provide short term plans to and agree these with the Project Manager.
- Provide long term plans with the agreement of the Project Manager.
- Revise and keep all plans up to date.
- The Project Manager will document the project programme. Thereafter, he will monitor progress against the programme and advise the Quantity Surveyor on any variations delays.
- Ensure that all instructions or details of work made available by the client are incorporated into the project programme and made available to the construction personnel.
- Agree with the Project Manager the resources needed both on site and at Head Office for estimating. Comply with Project Managers instructions in the setting up of a system to provide for the estimating required.
- Ensure schedules and targets are met and that on-site estimating is carried out correctly.
- Agree with the Project Manager on the need for technical services during the course of construction. Control any technical services provided on site.
- All requisitions from site must pass through the Project Engineer. Any quantities not covered by the updated Bill of Materials or by the list of agreed equipment for the installation must be accompanied by the appropriate authorization or documentation.
- Participate as required in dealing with the client or his representatives. He will keep the client informed of progress on the project of difficulties encountered or anticipated.
- You must be familiar with the contract document so that the implications of variations encountered or day works undertaken are clear.
- You must inform the Project Manager of any discussions with the client on questions which he is unable to resolve satisfactorily.
- Responsible for the completion of all work necessary to honor contractual obligations or other undertakings to the client in respect of final handover.
- Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

- Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline field
- 2-3 years relevant experience in project management in the industrial lift/construction industry.
- Conversant in MS Office and MS Project
- Experience in managing work teams
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to multitask and work independently under pressure and tight deadline
