Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional Project Management Specialist who is specialized in modularization design and worked heavily in modularization techniques and methodologies in capital projects for Refining and Petrochemicals industries to join the SAMREF Project of Liquid to Chemicals Project Management.

The Project executes an integrated scope of Residue Upgrade Complex and a world-scale Mixed Feed Steam Cracker alongside downstream petrochemical units in Yanbu to convert low value bottom-of-the-barrel Fuel Oil produced at SAMREF Refinery into more valuable premium products and further into petrochemicals.

The Project Management Specialist - Modularization Specialist primary role is to lead the modularization studies and involve in the selection of the optimal concept execution basis to determine the degree of modularization for the capital projects. The Modularization Specialist role also involves in disciplines that directly affect project performance, including but not limited to planning and scheduling, project execution, estimation, cost engineering, geomatics, value engineering, and other Value Improvement Practices. Ensure that the engineering design, procurement, construction and project completion is done in compliance with the project objectives, standards and procedures, and contractual requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Lead the Execution of capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget.

Manage the team under the division in executing the projects and provide guidance and directives to ensure successful completion of the project.

Lead the Modular Design Assessment and manage the Modularization studies in all project phases (FEL2, FEL3 and Execution) and identify all the outcomes for evaluation Engineering and construction planning and implementation expertise pertinent to modularization on mega oil, gas, chemicals projects.

Provide input in defining modularization scope; have good understanding of modularization drivers.

Be part of the modularization team and coordinate with them the execution of engineering, procurement, and construction under module perspective.

Interface with all engineering disciplines and coordinate modular concepts with the team during the various phases of the project.

Coordinate with engineering teams on the modular scope during all phases of design - pre-FEED, FEED, and detail design.

Evaluate all the advantages and disadvantages of the modularization aspects in the specific project, the identification of the best compromises.

Initiate and administer studies - conceptual modularization planning, logistics (heavy haul, heavy lift/rigging, transport, setting at site).

Ensure the Advance Work Packaging is properly implemented in the various phases for a smooth and successfully Modularization implementation and execution.

Define engineering deliverables to support modularized execution and AWP implementation.

Provide input into engineering and design to facilitate modular construction and optimize engineering quantities for safe and cost-effective construction.

Interface management between engineering, procurement, and construction across all parties (owners, contractors, equipment suppliers, etc.) involved.

Manage and control both engineering design changes and construction execution plan changes.

Review monthly Modularization Status Report and Performance reports showing the status of design, material and prefabrication related to the Modularization.

Guide and direct team members in the application of Project/JV Standards into the Modularization design by anticipating waiver and standard violations.

Support fabrication yard evaluation and qualifications.

Track industry fabrication tends and engage with the key fabricators for competitive market intelligence.

Establish modulization core competencies within the team allowing for more effective institutionalization of knowledge and best practices.

Uphold engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional behavior and conduct.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.

As a successful candidate you should have at least Fifteen years of experience in project management field executing capital projects in Refining and Petrochemical industries, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert in this field, including at least Seven years' experience working on modularization for capital project in Refining and Petrochemical industries with values ranging from $500MM to $billion.

Experience in Engineering Design & Construction phase with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in the applicable International Codes, Standards and Specifications.

You must have the ability to work in a diverse working environment, with multinational teams, and mobilize to different locations, both domestically and internationally, including remote areas as needed.
