Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

Ability to read all types of drawings; prepare material takeoff; field inspection to monitor the work progress and compiling the progress as per company requirements and prepare final reports. Should be able to understand easily the contract scope and identify the extra works. Should be able to follow up and price the extra works as per standard practices.

Work Performed:

• Perform risk and value analysis, monthly project progress valuations as well as cost control.
• Prepare comparison sheet between tender quantities and actual quantities using approved shop drawings
• Receiving material order request (MOR) and allocate the cost to the corresponding project budget and to be use on preparing weekly QS snapshot.
• Produce accurate Bills of Quantities and perform quantity cross checks as and when required.
• Prepare detailed claims for payment and ensure all claims are fully documented with supporting documents.
• Ensure quality management systems requirements are included within the sub-contract agreement.
• Interpretation of drawings, taking-off quantities, floating enquiries, follow-up and evaluation of quotations, preparing comparative statements and involve with pre-tender and post-tender activities, etc, preparing variations, claims and EOT, preparing contractors and sub contractors payment certificates.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering / Surveying.
• 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the oil and petrochemical industry.
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a challenging and fast professional environment.
• Proficient in preparation of various request for quotations with technical approach statement, manpower, equipment & material construction schedule, cash flow and other relevant required information or data.
• Must have good computer skills.
