Job description / Role

• UNIT NAME: Adult Cardiac Surgical High Dependency Unit-Ward 29 / 30
• PATIENT POPULATION: Adult: Mixed Gender
• HOURS OF OPERATION: 24 Hours / 7 days per week
• NUMBER OF BEDS: 23 operational beds
• OCCUPANCY RATE: 90-100%

PRIMARY PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
• Post Cardiac Surgery:
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
• Valve Surgery ( Valvuloplasty, Repair or Replacement )
• Aortic Aneurysm / Dissection
• Adult Congenital / Heart Disease
• Sternal Re-Wire / Debridement
• Maze Procedure
• Pulmonary Embolectomy
• Cardiac Surgery Intervention for Trauma or Injury
• Arrhythmias as Complications Post-Operatively
• Pleural and Pericardial Effusions
• Chronic Airway Management in patients post cardiac surgery

Pre Cardiac Surgery:
• Patient management pre-operatively Cardiac Surgery for Moderate to high risk, non-ventilated patients.

NURSING PROCEDURES:
• 24-Hour Monitoring and Telemetry
• Non-lnvasive Ventilation BIPAP / CPAP
• Chronic Airway Management (Tracheostomy)
• Invasive Hemodynamics monitoring (CVP / ART Line)
• Low-medium Dose Inotropic Support
• Emergency Transvenous Pacing, Temporary Cardiac Pacing and Pacing Wires Management
• Direct Cardioversion
• Chest Tubes (Insertion / Removal / Management)
• Quinton Catheter for Dialysis
• Thoracentesis

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current Nursing license - E
• Diploma in Nursing (Western standard) - Essential
• Two (2) years current clinical experience in specific area of practice - E
• Specific Certification as Required in area of assignment - E
• English Language Skills: Level I - E
• Computer Skills: Proficient - E
