Resident Technical Engineer

Job description / Role

Purpose: Perform the engineering design and development function to ensure that the product meet the requirements of the applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and all design criteria.

Client Details: Manufacturing MNC for oil & gas sector

Product Design
* Perform research and analysis of new and existing products and prepare layout drawings to conform products operational suitability to the applicable industry standards and customers requirement.
* Material selection to achieve performance and cost objectives.
* Perform required design calculation to ensure products suitability.
* Create Bill of Materials, component drawings, assembly drawings, and assembly procedures for the products according to engineering standard format and policy.

Product Testing
* Monitoring test process for the products and prototypes according to engineering standard format and policy.
* Assist with the assembly and testing of the prototypes.
* Produce test reports for tested prototypes.

Product Releasing
* Create running and operation manuals for the products according to engineering standard format and policy.
* Obtain and file all project documents according to engineering procedure.
* Ensure all project documents are submitted to the company ERP system, and ensure proper project closure.
* Ensure that the transition of products from prototype to a full production environment is made in a timely and efficient manner.

Other Duties
* Communicate with all levels of internal and external personnel as needed to get all information required to complete assigned tasks.
* Assist other departments like procurement, production, and sales, and provide them required technical clarifications.
* Must understand and comply with all safety rules, workplace instructions, quality system, and company policies.
* Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
* Travel as required to support product sales, field runs and troubleshooting exercises.

Requirements

* From 7 to 10 years experience as a design engineer specially in wellheads and Xmas trees.
* From 3 to 5 years experience with Aramco and fully aware of Aramco system.
* Minimum 3 years experience in drilling and work over activities.
* BSc. Mechanical Engineering / equivalent
* Deal with service issues for the manufacturing workshop activities and products and field.
* Should be familiar with procedure and documentation of ISO 9001:2000 certification.
* Ability to perform research, development, and analysis, and to apply theoretical and technical knowledge on solving practical problems.
* Strong business skills (Communication, presentation, negotiation and customer service).
* Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
* Fluent in English.
