The spectacular new five-star Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar offers sweeping views over the Al Khobar skyline. A wide range of rooms and suites are available, as well as 18 stunning, designer-styled apartments that combine the ultimate in elegance, space and comfort with all the services and amenities of a five-star hotel.

Room Attendant

To clean the allocated areas whether its guest rooms, suites and/or Public Spaces according to the Kempinski Al Othman standards and procedures.To ensure the highest level of cleanliness and comfort to guests, in a well

maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Be aware of the hotel emergency, fire and safety procedures.
- Keep the work environment clean, neat and clear of potential hazards.
- Follow the safety precautions while working with heavy machinery and strong chemicals as required
- The safety and security of guests and employees are of vital importance.
- Attend daily briefings with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and pay careful attention to all instructions and priorities for the day and as per shift. Contribute to the meetings with suggestions and by asking questions.
- Pick up work assignment, key, guest and cleaning supplies according to established procedure and proceed to the assigned area.
- Proceed to the floor linen room, to pick up linen cart / basket and vacuum cleaner. Ensure that the linen cart / basket is correctly replenished and the vacuum cleaner in good working condition.
- Start cleaning rooms / credits as assigned and according to priority as discussed during the meeting/advised by the Supervisor and/or Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms and suites according to established procedure and carry out special cleaning tasks as required.
- Use cleaning products and cleaning supplies according to instruction and safety procedure.
- Handle bed linens and towels with care and separate soiled and damaged linens according to procedure.
- Replenish guest supplies, paper supplies and linens in bedrooms, bathrooms and suites according to standard and established procedure.
- Report repair and maintenance items according to established procedure.
- Report lost and found items found at the guest rooms to the Supervisor and the HSK Order taker at once and handle the items according to established procedure.
- Perform the turn down service according to established procedure if working in the evening shift
- Perform special cleaning tasks, as requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor on shift.
- Replenish baskets with guest-, paper- and cleaning supplies from the central store room, ready for pick up by the coming attendant at the following shift.
- Complete work assignment according to established procedure.
- Be security conscious with keys and open room doors.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in floor linen room and corridor and other areas of responsibility.
- Be helpful and courteous to guests while working in guest rooms at all times.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the hotel.
- Mops, dusts, waxes, polishes, sweeps, vacuums all public areas and staff areas such as the lobby, lifts, all offices ,functions rooms, staff locker room, Food & Beverage outlets, corridors, backstairs, business center etc.
- Maintains, clean, disinfects public area, rest rooms and employee locker rooms, air conditioning vents, walls, lamps, elevators, carpets, floors and marble precisely according to trained and established methods.
- Replenishes and records consumption of Public Area rest room supplies daily, assists guests in using the Public Area comfort facilities and practices courtesy towards guests at all times in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Re-arranges furniture layout whenever necessary upon approval of the Executive Housekeeper or the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- Empties litter bins and ashtrays regularly according to procedures.
- Cleans and maintains cleaning equipment and machines and stores them in designated store room after every use. Reports any defect to the Supervisor immediately.
- Cleans and keeps Public Area pantries and store rooms clean, tidy and properly supplied at all times
- Use cleaning products and cleaning supplies according to instruction and safety procedure.
- Report lost and found items found at the Public Areas to the Housekeeping Supervisor on duty and the Housekeeping Coordinator - Order taker at once and handle the items according to established procedure.
- Complete work assignment according to established procedure.
- Be helpful and courteous to guests while working at the public areas at all times.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the hotel.

Requirements

Desired Skills & Qualifications

- Equivalent of Middle School Graduate preferable
- Previous hotel-related experience beneficia
- Local language - oral and written skills (as applicable)
- English -oral skills are beneficial
- Attention to details
- Flexibility in terms of scheduling
- Physical ability to clean 13 rooms per day according to standards
- Physical ability to push and pull the room attendant cart
