Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a Safety Assurance Inspector - Rolling Stock who will provide support in the establishment of policies and procedures for the management of risks and hazards in relation to the client's railway rolling stock and monitors the performance against these policies and procedures.

Job Description:
- Assists in the implementation and the monitoring of the client's Safety Management Systems (SMS) in relation to railway rolling stock and seeks for opportunities to improve the SMS
- Assists in developing and updating the list with the safety critical positions in the client in relation to the railway rolling stock
- Assists in the development and maintenance of the hazard log in relation to railway rolling stock, proposes counter measures to mitigate the risks and confirms & reports on the implementation of counter measures
- Assists in monitoring the compliance of each safety critical position against the client requirements (e.g. SMS procedures, rules and procedures, instructions, temporary instructions, work orders, etc.) in his area of responsibility and seeks improvement opportunities
- Monitors, inspects and audits the implementation of the corporate railway rolling stock safety assurance procedures, instructions and works including contractors activities (rolling stock asset management procedures / instructions / works) and reports on the compliance
- Assists in providing safety assurance for the interfaces between railway rolling stock, operations and infrastructure by supporting the collaboration between relevant departments
- Assists in the implementation of the client's annual safety audits which is proposed and managed by the Safety Assurance Manager for Rolling Stock
- Undertakes inspections whenever it is requested by the Safety Assurance Manager fro Rolling Stock
- Assists in the Safety Department works to increase the level of safety railway rolling stock by proposing Key Performance Indicators and the annual safety targets. Supports his superior in the monitoring of the level of safety by collecting and presenting the measurement results of the KPIs and the annual safety targets
- Supports the safe design process for railway rolling stock asset, when needed
- Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents in relation to railway rolling stock and proposes countermeasures to mitigate the identified hazards
- Assists in the reviews, assessments and monitoring of the railway rolling stock safety performance and proposes measures to increase the level of safety in conjunction with other relevant departments
- Supports the implementation of the training program to the Client staff in relation to railway rolling stock
- Assists in the preparation of emergency plans and in the implementation of drills
- Monitors the changes in KSA legislative requirements in relation to railway rolling stock and the requirements set by the Government and proposes measures to transpose these requirements into the client's internal rules and procedures and into the SMS procedures
- Responsible to meet the departmental objectives, practices, and work procedures and proposes measures to improve the quality of the work
- Supervises small teams in short term assignments, if applicable
- Carries out any other duties as instructed by the Safety Assurance Manager - Rolling Stock
- Deputizes for the Safety Assurance Manager - Rolling Stock, if applicable

Requirements

- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor, Master or other relevant diploma)
- Fresh graduate with preferably 1 year or more practical rail experience
- Knowledge to prepare reports
- Knowledge on Management Systems
- Able to handle complaints and feedback
- Strong personal commitment for safety
- Good communication skills
- Excellent command of Arabic (written and oral) - Native Arabic speaker desirable
- Very good command of the English language (written and oral)
- Ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge in MS Office
- Applicable to hold driving license for the KSA
