Employment: Full Time

Purpose: To provide technical advice on safety policies, programs and actions in accordance with the Loss Control Management System. Coordinate and direct safety promotional materials and messages to all Company employees.

Duties:
- Contribute to the implementation of the Safety Management System and safety programs and measures in accordance with the Oil Industry best practices, national and international rules in matters of Industrial Safety (Prevention and Risk Management) and Safety Behavior.
- Support day-to-day activities involved in providing safety advice to assigned organizations.
- Ensure that all employees are informed about the safety policies, rules and regulation of the Company.
- Regularly update safety campaign materials to cover all safety areas described in the SATORP Safety Management System.
- Participate in the establishment of a framework for personal safety and the existence of appropriate safety procedures; provide advice on accident/incident investigation and analyses.
- Develop a set of minimum safety rules for the office and Refinery environments and help to develop the Safety on Site and Prevention standards.
- Ensure relevant work permits will be created and distributed in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Participate in preparing the daily work permit by meeting with Operations and Maintenance to discuss special work permits (such as hot and heavy lifting work permit).
- Participate in the approval of job risk analysis and associated work permits. Audit of maintenance activities on-site.
- Provide advice on safety procedures so that all jobs within the Refinery can be performed in a safe way.
- Develop and implement safety promotional materials for Office and Refinery environments.
- Develop strategies to disseminate Company safety rules and regulation on a regular basis to employees.
- Plan and monitor the education awareness of the Company employees.
- Assist in the development of the Monthly Safety Themes program.
- Assist the development of promotional and advisory safety materials in line with the Monthly Themes.
- Prepare educational materials including technical and informational articles, presentations, workshops and orientation materials.
- Distribute safety promotional materials on a regular basis.
- Report violations of SATORP safety standards on-site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Safety Supervisor.

Requirements

- Two (2) years Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
- Six (6) years of experience in Health and Safety in a Petroleum profession or similar.
- Good knowledge of process safety management with Refinery experience.
- Good knowledge of Safety management system development and implementation.
- Good knowledge of Hazard identification and quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of Safety behaviour improvement.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Capable of giving strong attention to details.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Good command of oral and written English.
