Sales Manager - Motor Division (Saudi Arabia)

Our client is a global provider of power transformers and rotating electrical machines with global operations based in Romania. Continued market growth has created this opportunity with our client who are a subsidiary of a renowned Saudi business conglomerate with global operations. Our client now seek to appoint a Sales Manager for their Motors Division in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to promote, sell and develop business for rotating electric machines for the territories of Saudi Arabia and the GCC region.

The focus of the role is:
- Market Research
- Identification of potential customers
- Initiation and follow up of contacts with potential clients
- Report findings on market competition and pricing
- Develop a roadmap for starting up of the business in the assigned area
- Be the direct contact point of the business unit with the customers including sales, technical, quality, after sales service, maintenance, etc.)

Reporting to the Business Manager – Motors Division, the proven performer we seek will be responsible for the following:
- Develop the annual profit plan for the market segment including earned sales and gross margin for current and anticipated projects, backlog, sales and bid/proposal resource requirements.
- Actively collaborate and be the lead in proposal preparation, estimating, planning and pricing.
- Participate in risk analysis and management and contract negotiations with customers.
- Support company continuous improvement efforts and activities in the region.
- Oversee all client relationships and develop plans for new strategic market objectives and oversee implementation plans and activities.
- Provide and communicate ongoing business development information to senior management.
- Identify market potential, develop and implement the sales and marketing strategy.
- Analyse sales statistics, estimate volume and profit potential and develop realistic forecasts and projections.
- Maintain relationships with all customers and vendors by making periodic visits, identifying and exploring needs, and responding to concerns in a timely manner.
- Organize, prepare and lead company qualification presentations and all programs required for client development.
- Proactively monitor and maintain positive and effective customer relations.
- Negotiate and secure timely customer approval for project scope changes and contract modifications.

Requirements

- Degree qualification in Business or comparable with a Master’s Degree being highly regarded.
- 10+ years’ technical experience in rotating electrical machines industry with a minimum of 5 years’ of experience in a sales management position.
- Must have experience in selling rotating electrical machines and have the ability to develop and close new business and develop and grow a client base.
- Strategic & analytical thinking;
- Strong negotiation skills, communication skills; accuracy and attention to details;
- Proven performer in the achievements of deadlines and targets;
- Detail and result oriented; administrative and financial skills;
- Familiar with the GCC region and contacts in this area will be regarded;
- Language skills: fluent in English (written and verbal) is a must; knowledge of Arabic is a plus;
- Knowledge and understanding of the organization and business processes employed by electric power companies, government agencies, manufacturers and industrial consumers;
- Technical knowledge of final testing of rotating electrical machines;
- Goal and team oriented – willingness to work collectively with others to achieve corporate, regional and personal goals.
- Ability to schedule and plan strategically or react quickly to a changing working sales environment.
- Must be prepared to travel for business, as required.
- Computer skills - MS Office applications (Excel, PPT, Word);
