Overview

We are seeking a Scheduling Engineer to join the Project Metrics Division of the Project Management Office Department.

The Project Metrics Division is responsible for providing cost engineering, planning and scheduling, performance analysis, and claims resolution support companywide for Saudi Aramco suite of projects.

The Scheduling Engineer's primary role is to carry out planning and scheduling functions during all stages of the project. These functions are related to the project scheduling activities and project execution of major capital projects in support of the Company's Capital Program. Duties will include analysis and evaluation of project schedules, project execution strategies, analysis of work breakdown structures, and resource requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in the planning for, and preparation of, planning and scheduling control systems and other practices to give engineering and construction supervisors the means to evaluate and improve the efficiency of their project execution.
- Provide staff guidance to engineering and construction supervisors in one or more areas of planning and scheduling expertise by analyzing and evaluating all pertinent data.
- Review work of scheduling analysts under your direction; check that reports and data developed are in accordance with established methods and requirements, and make recommendations for future study or revisions.
- Participate in the analysis of major capital projects to plan the most effective execution sequence in light of experience and current industry practices.
- Discuss, coordinate, and resolve long-term and short-term planning and scheduling problems with personnel throughout the Company and with contractor organizations. Act as technical consultant when required.
- Assist in the technical evaluation of contractors relative to their expertise in planning and scheduling and conduct detailed analysis of performance relative to planning, reporting methods, and forecasting of Aramco contractors.
- Evaluate the planning and scheduling information collected from project management teams or contractors, and advise on supervision of exceptions to plans and potential corrective actions and/or impact on the project.
- Provide staff assistance in the preparation and maintenance of the Master Scheduling System in support of Aramco's capital program planning effort and/or other planning and scheduling reports, procedures, and services.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of planning and scheduling information collected from project teams or contractors, and advise of significant exceptions to proposed and approved conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in or initiate orientation and training of Scheduling Analysts III and IV and Professional Development Program employees.
- Utilize computer applications, both PC and mainframe, to aid scheduling and scheduling analysis.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- As a successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is acceptable.
- The ideal candidate has 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling experience, including 5 years devoted to either petrochemical, construction, heavy, or high technology industries.
- Have exposure to Project Management practices; computer capabilities; current planning and scheduling techniques and standards, methods, and procedures. Must be a confident responsibilities individual, able to perform with a minimum of supervision .
- International experience is highly desirable
- Experience in critical path network analysis and computer applications related to Progress Measurement Systems
