SDN MPLS Expert

Job description / Role

• Define SDN IP-MPLS strategy.
• Provide support for all activities related to virtualization on platform architecture for emerging infrastructure technologies.
• Deliver technology advisory and implementation solutions that extract and maximize business value in an innovative and visionary way.
• Analyze virtualization strategy, architecture, engineering and operations in order to deliver efficient and effective network infrastructure and platforms fundamental to business success.
• Develop documentation for best practices for Network infrastructure.
• Follow up and analyze new solutions, technologies and products for network softwarization technologies.
• Study technology Roadmap to introduce new releases of SDN technologies and solutions while considering existing systems flexibility and impacts on the company business.
• Develop initiatives and plans for implementation of the transport domain strategy
• Ensure transport domain strategy conforms to corporate level strategy and overarching technology strategy
• Manage competitive intelligence gathering process
• Consider technology strategy requirements as well as objectives and consult technology strategy development with transport-specific requirements and objectives
• Conduct research and analysis on external factors influencing transport domain strategy
• Conduct research and analysis of internal factors (resources & capabilities) influencing transport domain strategy
• Support the technology innovation process within mobile and align with sectors on emerging technologies, trends and key innovation topics
• Support the mapping and monitoring of technologies underlying business capabilities, as well as emerging new uses and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or Information Technology
• Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering or Information Technology (preferred)
• Juniper or Cisco certification(s) are preferable and highly desired (CCIE-SP, JNCIE-SP, JNCIE-DC, JNCIE-Sec).
• Expertise in SDN-DC technologies, such as Juniper Contrail, Nokia Nuage, VMware NSX-T.
• Routing and switching skillset with working knowledge of IPv4/v6 routing and switching, advanced network communication protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VPLS, VRF, GRE, VxLAN, SR, GENEVE, EVPN, IPSec, VPN, Multicast, and policy-based routing.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless APs, and SD WAN devices such as uCPEs.
• The candidate must be highly technical and able to craft solutions, not just execute tasks defined by others.
• Proven ability to work and problem solve independently/collaboratively, to organize workload and priorities, high quality execution, technical innovation/adoption, and initiative.
• Ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences
• Good knowledge of Cloud and Virtualization concepts and technologies
• Working experience with Telco Cloud solutions and NFV.
• Knowledge with some of cloud management frameworks (OpenStack, or VMware vCloud Director, vSphere)
• Good understanding of networking technologies and protocols
• Excellent presentation / communication skills
• Experience in developing network build/upgrade strategy for service provider networks
• Demonstrated technical deep understanding with in-depth technical background in fixed and mobile networks. Especially in core networks domain.
• BSEE or BSCS with 10+ years of experience. Master or MBA is a plus.
• Expert knowledge and deep technical expertise in Transport Networks
• Expert knowledge in the strategy development and business planning processes
• Expert knowledge of telecommunications product & services portfolio.
• Financial skills: able to estimate the financial metrics (ROI, IRR, NPV, FCC) of a given project.
• Strategy skills: multi-criteria decision making, ANOVA, Monte-Carlo simulation
• Practical experience with one of the following service architectures: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, is plus.
• Working experience with DC design and experience in SDDC.
• Knowledge of security infrastructure and concepts in Cloud
