Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Senior Accountant is responsible for professional accounting service within policies & procedures, managing the activities of an Accounting Unit in order to support the provision of high quality Accounting Standards for Danya Foods Ltd.

Accountabilities:
- Review, keep records of the original Commercial Agreements with all customers including the price structure and trade terms.
- Prepare monthly reports by Channel & Customer on discounts, trade terms, returns and promotions
- Ensure control over prices on the Sales Orders / Invoices are based on approved Company price list.
- Assist in period closing at month/year end. Maintain the period end check list updated.
- Participate in the review of and ensure that inter-company accounts are reconciled every month. Record transactions from inter-company account related to assigned area.
- Make sure Customers’ requests are met & all due obligations are done on timely basis.
- Daily Control of Customer Credit (in value and days) and proper follow up on overdue balances.
- Prepare monthly Royalty report as per the royalty policy.
- Prepare weekly/monthly DSO report, per Channel/Customer
- Prepare all Provisions needed for Doubtful Trade Customers + Periodical / Year End Discounts.
- Issue & control the Credit Notes to customers as per management approval.
- Review of ageing of customers on weekly basis & follow up on collections as per the policy.
- Prepare reports for management on AR and Sales Volumes as required.
- Ensure that customers credit limit and credit period as noted in the Enterprise Resources Planning is as per Commercial agreements.
- Inform management on blocked Customer accounts and act on its advice
- Ensure that balances in AR sub-ledger and General Ledger account are matching.
- Closely monitor the accounting procedural compliance to ensure full adherence to international accounting standards and business processes.
- Report discrepancies and areas of non-compliance to direct supervisor in order to ensure that a high level of control is maintained and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Auditors for all needed documents.
- Assist other units in tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Collaborate in developing policies and procedures; participate in projects as instructed by immediate supervisor and review changes proposed by subordinates / others in order to support the development of accounting standards.
- Monitor accounting procedural compliance by subordinates and employees.
- Analyze ledgers and accounts to allow the reconciliation of accounting data as per set schedules.
- Monitor receivable accounts of employees who have been granted an advance on salary or Company loan (as per set procedure).

Requirements

- Education: degree in Financial / Managerial Accounting or equivalent
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
- Languages: Very Good command of English. Arabic is a plus
