Senior Architect

Job description / Role

Overview of Project – 5.5 Billion SAR Value with a 50 Month Construction program how it stands at present . We want to recruit an experience Senior Architect or Coordinator that can report directly into the JV Design Manager on site.

This person will be responsible for a team of architects, designers and draftsmen. This Airport Terminal is over 35 Years Old and is going to undergo significant changes from structural, refurbishments , design layouts, and buildings for the Existing Terminals – Both International & Domestic. At present the Airport is responsible for 7 Million Flights and by 2030 it will be responsible for over 30 Million.

Overseeing all activities and performing reviews and by way of monitoring of the design development steps, ensuring the adherence to the overall project document management systems, such that all related design activities are performed in accordance with the Relevant Documents and the agreed Quality Systems, as well as to ensure that the Design Consultants team members are actively involved in maintaining/implementing the agreed systems and the system processes.

- Responsible for the coordination, review and monitoring of all design drawings for Architecture including Interior Finishes and the day-to-day business to be provided for the design development by the Design Consultant’s Architects.
- Ensuring that all engineering work related to Architecture and interior Fit-out meets design approval criteria and construction deadlines.
- Ensuring that all activities during the design and engineering processes are performed in accordance with the Relevant Documents and the agreed Quality System requirements.
- Coordination, liaison and flow of communication between the Design Management Team and the Design Consultant.
- Communication with the Independent Engineers professional team, in particular the assigned and responsible Architects and Engineers.
- Coordination, liaison and ensuring the flow of information and communication between other trades, management of interfaces with other disciplines.
- Guidance of the preparation of all technical design reports and specifications on engineering performance for Architectural subjects.
- Ensuring innovative design solutions and the attendance to value engineering sessions.
- Conducting performance evaluation to assess that sufficient engineering resources are employed by the Design Consultant and measuring of production rates.
- Coordination with Construction, Production, Commercial and Procurement Sections.
- Coordination of Methods, Procedures, specifications, BOQ’s, to be prepared in line with the Architectural design and forwarding of documents to Procurement.
- Provision of status and evaluation reports, updating of schedules
- Managing data through use of the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS)

Requirements

The JV is open to Nationality on the role but they want to recruit someone that understands KSA and the culture within the country . They are open to an Arabic Speaker or British speaker . The most essential points for this role are that someone has the large scale experience they are seeking and have exposure to the Airport environment.

- Educated to Degree Level
- Clear experience of 10+ Years within Architecture of Majors Projects for Tier 1 Main Contractor
- Experience of working on Airport Terminals
- Must be able to start before October 2015
