Employment: Full Time

The Senior Corporate Counsel, KSA, will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to DaVita’s operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (“KSA”).

The position will be based in Riyadh. It will require travel throughout the KSA and some travel internationally. This position, which is newly created, will have a solid reporting line into the General Counsel, EMEA. Senior DaVita KSA management feedback will factor into performance assessment.

Essential duties and responsibilities
- Ensure, in coordination with the General Counsel, that DaVita’s KSA operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
- Counsel and advise on legal risks and help manage them; grow into the role of strategic partner of the KSA management team in proactively identifying and evaluating business and legal risks
- Review, draft and negotiate agreements, including supply, service, lease and construction agreements
- Provide legal advice on employment matters in the KSA
- Advise on regulatory legal issues, ensure marketing and sales strategies comply with applicable laws and internal policies
- Coordinate company secretarial work for the KSA legal entities and ensure, with the assistance of outside counsel and the DaVita government relations officer, that all DaVita legal entities in the KSA comply with their corporate, legal and regulatory obligations under all applicable laws
- Help ensure, in cooperation with the DaVita compliance function, that DaVita’s KSA operations are in line with compliance laws and regulations
- Assist in other projects as requested or assigned

Requirements

- Qualified attorney-at-law, typically with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, ideally through a mix of experience at a respectable international law firm and in-house experience with a publicly listed multinational enterprise
- Substantial experience in working with and handling KSA issues and dealing with KSA regulators and authorities
- International experience preferred, healthcare provider experience a plus
- Experience in dealing with US companies and other western companies preferred
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office suite

- KSA and some European and US travel required

Language and cultural skills:
- Ideally Arabic native speaker with excellent English, but fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is a minimum
- Comfortable to adapt to and understand foreign cultures and sensitivities
- Able to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment and on all levels of hierarchy
