Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

General responsibilities include developing, implementing and monitoring safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of industrial waste. Handling the company’s internal vehicle transportation as part of his scope.

Key responsibilities of the job include:
- Formulating efficient and effective waste disposal plans
- Procuring contracts with private and public waste generating and recycling companies
- Developing and administering waste management budgets
- Generating statistical records and preparing reports
- Ensuring that current waste disposal/handling/transportation legislation is complied with
- Monitoring levels of pollution from waste disposal sites
- Working closely with recycling officers in other establishments or management of recycling facilities
- Handling queries or complaints from clients
- Procuring the right equipment, machines, and vehicles to manage a safe and efficient operations
- Managing a team of supervisors, dispatchers, and drivers/waste collectors
- Will be handling the company’s internal vehicle transportation as part of his scope.

Requirements

- A relevant degree in a subject such as civil engineering, environmental or earth sciences, biological or biochemical sciences, or chemical or physical sciences may be preferred.
- A postgraduate qualification in waste or environmental management may be beneficial, particularly for graduates without an appropriate first degree.
- Waste Management experience is a must.
- Logistics industry experience is a must.
- Should have experience in dealing with ports/marine industry.
- GCC/ Middle Eastern experience is an added advantage
