Job description / Role
• Database administration and managing of SQL Server 2019 / 2016 / 2012.
• Provisioning, updating and upgrading SQL Server instances on Azure VMs.
• Configuring Always on Availability Groups and Read-Only Routing with load balance.
• Managing on-Premises FCIs and Stand-alone SQL Server instances.
• Create, Migrate, Backup and Restore databases.
• Configuring Replication for database objects (Transactional, Snapshot)
• Performance monitoring using the Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs and Activity Monitor.
• Performance tuning by enhancing Indexes (missing, deduplicates, unused, covering, filtered)
• Query tuning by reviewing codes and execution plans (table scan, key lookups, sort, etc.)
• Manage database object permissions, create and maintain, configure row-level security,
configure dynamic data masking and TDE.
• Managing storage by archiving old data and setting up appropriate sizing.
• Identifying query errors and impact by conducting Stress tests and reviewing new changes.
• Identifying locking, blocking and deadlocks and resolve them from Database side and application
• Reviewing and enhancing databases design with developers (Table partitioning, datatypes, constrains, FK, archiving historical data, triggers, etc.)
• Enhance views and stored procedures (datatypes, CTEs, Indexed Views, Hints).
• Planning, configuring and performing DR.
Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum of 8-10 Years of experience in SQL Database Administration
• Extensive experience in database administration, configuration, operations and managed services of complex systems as well as data center networks.
