Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Oversees day-to-day operations preparation and execution activities, including resource scheduling, team communications and status reporting as well as promoting and overseeing use of established best practices, policies, and procedures. Liaison between translation team and clients.
• Oversees the results of translation and applies the best practices for achieving the highest quality.
• Coordinates the translation process including setting operational plans and improving the translation process and quality.
• Reports any technical issues and work with the other departments to solve them.
• Understands customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
• Works with revisers team to establish quality requirements as well as setting standards for quality.
• Looks at ways to increase efficiency.
• Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures.
• Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
• Makes suggestions for changes and improvements and the way to implement them.
• Uses relevant quality tools and making sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the operations.
• Devises and reviews specifications for translation products or processes.
• Provides guidance and feedback for the translation team.
• Suggests operational plan development procedures.
• Solicits feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met.
• Submits detailed operational reports to managers.
• Looks out for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures.
• Performs other duties, as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• As assigned.

Requirements

Education Level:
• Bachelor or Master's degree in Translation or in any language-related discipline.

Experience:
• A minimum of (3) years' experience in a Supervisory role.
• Other experience including interactions with people of varied nationalities; and technical experience is desirable.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
• Fluency in both English and Arabic languages is required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Word, Power Point, and Excel). Knowledge of SDL TRADOS is preferred.
• Must possess the ability to organize, plan and report projects.
• Must have great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have excellent time management skills.
