Senior Solution / Technical Architect

Job description / Role

A cutting edge technology company with global reach are looking to add a Senior Solution Architect to the team for a key project in the Middle East.

Working within a key role for the organisation, the primary responsibility for the Senior Solution Architect is to provide a complete and thorough presentation and explanation of solution components and/or concepts to senior level management, customers and/or internal stakeholders.

Candidates will need to be innovative thinkers and will work with the wider solution architecture team to architect and design systems using SOA, databases including Big Data tech, TCP/IP, Web Services, Windows platforms and associated integration techniques.

Other responsibilities include:
- Design next-generation biometrics architectures and solutions for customers
- Design system and software requirement specifications, as well as system design documentation
- Gather requirements from customers
- Take a key technical lead role in the development of custom and bespoke applications
- Manage and oversee development team

Requirements

Candidates will need be a technical degree holder, and should have extensive experience in the design, analysis and development of large-scale, distributed, semantically interoperable systems.

Furthermore, candidates should have as many of the following areas of skills/experience as possible:
- Expert knowledge of Java technology, including Core Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, UI/Web tools, SOAP, REST, JSON, and ideally Websphere, JBoss and Tomcat ideally
- In depth knowledge and experience of working with dbms such as Oracle, DB2, PL/SQL
- Experience working with enterprise Service Bus/Messaging tech such as Websphere MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
- Experience working with enterprise-scale systems including: IBM Servers, HP ProLiant Servers, SAN, clustered-systems, High-Availability, Disaster Recovery

Any experience or knowledge of Biometrics systems, as well as C/C++ would be beneficial/advantageous.
