Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Client is a leading engineering Consultancy, and they are looking for a Sr. Structural Engineer.

Summary: Works under the technical direction of the Engineering Manager and supervise the work of 3-4 Project Engineers to provide assistance for new design and engineering assignments and have the ability to solve design related issues on the field.

Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering duties as advised under supervision of Engineering Project Manager.
- Prepare structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, mainly steel and concrete.
- Provide design and analysis according to relevant ACI, AISC, UBC, & SBC codes and standards.
- Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs.
- Working with CAD Technicians to produce relevant structural information
- Participate in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, and design revisions/ management of change.
- Coordinate requirements between other disciplines and perform checks of documents and shop drawings.
- Take responsibility for engineering tasks, and perform associated calculations reports and analysis.
- Provide Inspection, audit and analysis, and technical verification reports of existing structures.
- Provide evaluation and rehabilitation reports for deteriorated structures such as bridges, box culverts
- using NDT.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and project QMS and HSE procedures.
- Provide construction support to project engineers and assist construction team.
- Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the design changes on the field during construction.
- Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of all structural engineering and design back up calculation or support as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Attend progress meetings held at the site. And work on solving any design related issues with other team member.
- Complete any technical assignment as directed by the engineering manager.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with analysis and design work experience.
- 15+ years post graduate experience in structural engineering projects with direct experience in design of concrete and steel structures.
- Airport experience
- Consultant experience
- Competent in structural design, analysis of concrete and steel works, and materials specification.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, Pro-Structures, etc.
- Have a working experience with Finite Element Analysis method (FEA), and 3D modelling.
- Strong technical knowledge of the theory and design of structures, calculation of shallow and deep foundation, calculation of seismic and wind loads.
- Comprehensive knowledge of structural design standards and codes.
- Engineers with multitasking capabilities between design and construction coordination skills are highly preferable.
- Have an effective management and supervisory skills prioritizing on safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.
- Must be pro-active, adaptable and a motivated team player

- Proficient in using MS Office including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
