Senior Manager - Residential Technical Standards & Compliance

Senior Technical Standards & Compliance Manager with a background in Design/Construction to lead on development of the residential technical standards and compliance strategy. This remit also covers all aspects of ESG compliance, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

Description

* Provide strategy and execution support of the residential portfolio with respect to technical standards and compliance.
* Develop technical standards and specifications for residential assets, ensuring internal teams are working to benchmarks that will achieve the quality aspirations and delivery expectations.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to create an actionable technical standards and compliance framework for all residential developments within the regulatory structure.
* Establish protocols, processes and procedures to ensure project teams and developments adhere to objectives regarding health & safety, environmental, planning and workmanship objectives amongst others.
* Develop technical standards and compliance KPIs for internal project teams and external consultants to adhere to.
* Create, maintain and refresh a technical standards database
* Develop front-end feasibility studies, option analysis and sensitivity testing of residential real estate technical standards strategies.
* Review designs and proposals to ensure compliance with technical standards, attending workshops where required.
* Prepare presentation content to communicate development technical standards and compliance strategies using robust, research-backed full life cycling modelling and assumptions.
* Prepare regular reporting updates as required by the business
* Assist department managers to produce a quarterly Board of Directors report.
* Keep abreast of emerging technology and best practices in the build environment, ensuring the developments are at the forefront of innovation.
* Identify, research and test prospective materials, products and system for use within the project.
* Procure and manage advisory services from global Real Estate consultancies to assist with completing the above workstreams.
* Take responsibility for the budget assigned for consultant workstreams, ensure procurement policy is followed and manage consultants to drive programmes and deliverables.
* Take ownership of ad-hoc projects, studies and workstreams, reacting quickly to the dynamic project environment.
* Take responsibility for building a dedicated residential technical standards and compliance team to the extent needed to service workload growth.
* Provide internal project team training and workshops as required.

Requirements

* 15+ years' experience, ideally within reputable residential Real Estate, Design or Construction firms with previous exposure on large scale giga-projects preferred.
* Experience in strategic planning stage of large-scale developments
* Bachelors Degree is a must
* Experience with a variety of global technical standards, safety and sustainability initiative
* Masters Degree educated in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Surveying or related.
* Able to autonomously balance and prioritise multiple workstreams.
* Knowledge of project design and construction processes and phases
* Highly collaborative, open mindset and strong communication skills
* Professional accreditation (MRICS, CIOB, RIBA or similar) is preferred
