Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The System Assurance Engineer will be responsible to create and implement a System Assurance System to oversee the management of the processes, activities and deliverables relevant to achieving and demonstrating design and operational safety and security for the Project railway network. The PMC shall manage the development and application of the Assurance system and system-safety processes, affording full requirements rich trace-ability, in line minimally with the international norms of ISO 15288, EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129 on behalf of the client, in order to ensure that:
- A high standard of network system safety, with no single point of failure for critical rail systems, and RAMS targets have been implemented; and
- The operation and maintenance procedures shall ensure that railway safety and performance shall be maintained in the public service phase.

The System Assurance Engineer shall manage and coordinate system assurance activities, and review and accept all RAMS studies produced by other consultants, contractors, the railway operator, maintenance organization and the rolling stock contractor, including:
- System planning,
- Derivation of network system targets (RAM and safety) and apportionment to systems and sub-systems, and
- Ensuring that aggregation of system and sub-system safety and security aspects shall comply with the overall network criteria for the railway.

The System Assurance Engineer will responsible for the following deliverables but not be limited to:
- Network level hazard, risk and RAM studies (detailed design, procurement / manufacture, and testing/commissioning)
- Hazard Log
- Risk Assessment Management Plan
- Change Control Plan
- FMECA for M&E rail systems
- Network Design Safety Case
- Safety Validation Plan
- Network Integration Verification Report
- Preliminary Operations Safety Case
- Safety Validation Report
- Engineering Safety Case
- Operations Safety Case
- Final Operations Safety Case

Requirements

Degree in Engineer, preferably a Master in Engineering with a minimum of 15 Years of engineering and construction experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive railway engineering design and construction experience with regard to Systems Assurance. Excellent organizational and communication skills. A strong commitment to filling a role as a key member of the PMC Team building one of the pre-eminent railway projects in the world.

Qualifications:
- Professional Registration preferred.
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets.
- The use of Discipline Specific software may be required.
