For our client, a recently founded and growing Electric School in Saudi Arabia, we are currently looking for several

Technical Instructors - Power Engineering (m/f)

Our client is an Electrical College in Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2012, the vocational college currently operates three locations in Saudi Arabia. One additional training center will be opened throughout the coming 12 months.

In a 2-year training program trainees study power plant maintenance, power plant operations, network maintenance and shielding methods. The organisation is being operated as a public private partnership. Having completed the 2-year training, the school graduates will be joining Saudi Arabic electric companies for the operation and maintenance of the national power system. The school currently employs around 80 training instructors and staff.

In this challenging position, the Technical Instructor will teach the Saudi-Arabic trainees at one of the existing training centers in one or more of the below mentioned specialisations in Power Plant Technology / Electrical Engineering.

All of the trainees are either high school or technical college graduates and study for 30 contact periods per week. Class sizes average between 15-17 trainees. The curriculum including testing and measuring is based on a 14-week trimester system or a 10-week quarter system with breaks between each training cycle (depending on the location).

Throughout the first year, trainees within the program study English, Health and Safety, Science and Mathematics. Students in the second year of the program will study one of the specializations listed below:
- Power Plant Maintenance (Technical Electrical)
- Power Plant Maintenance (Technical Mechanical)
- Power Plant Technician - Instrumentation Measurement and Control
- Transmission/Distribution Protection Relay Technician
- Transmission Power Service Technician (Substations)
- Distribution Network Operator (Electrical Network Operation)
- Overhead Lines (Construction & Maintenance)
- Cable Splicing (Jointing)
- Power Plant Operation (Combined Cycle)

Requirements

- A tertiary qualification in one or more of the following technical areas: Electrical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, Electrical Cableman, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the maintenance of electrical equipment for either steam, gas or combined cycle turbine plants, including the balance of plant equipment
- Minimum of 3 years experience in teaching / training power plant electrical maintenance (a combination of work / teaching experience may be considered)
- Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to resolve issues and meet agreed outcomes
- Willingness to work and live in Saudi Arabia
- Fluent in English (in speaking and writing)
