Employment: Full Time

Cavendish Professionals is currently working with the principal European contractor, who is the lead in one of the main consortium's responsible for the construction of three of the six Metro lines, part of the Metro Project.

Cavendish Professionals is looking for a Technical Office Manager who will provide the link between the Client's Design Management, our Construction teams and any external consultants and specialist trade contractors undertaking design and detailing work.

Job purpose:
* To ensure that key design aspects are incorporated within the scheme, in accordance with employers' requirements and specifications.
* To co-ordinate the development of shop drawings, sub-contracts and detailers designs with design team.
* Implementing agreed processes for the production, control and distribution of design information.
* Ensuring regular progress reporting of the design, covering production, coordination and interfaces, against a timeline
* Ensuring design information is thoroughly reviewed for: buildability, safety and maintainability, 'completeness' accuracy, quality & technical suitability.
* Assist in the technical review of Employer Requirements. Prepare technical queries / clarifications sought from consultant designers and / or Client.
* Assist in determining design risks inherent in the proposed construction. Prepare schedule(s) of identified technical risks.
* Assist in reviewing design with design team and the Client to identify opportunities for innovation and value engineering.
* Assist in reviewing, with estimating function and design team, various: component, specification, system and material options.
* Assist to collate all necessary drawings, specifications, Contractors Proposals, programmes, methodology and other necessary items.
* Ensure sufficient and pro-active information flow is maintained between all parties. Particularly identify cross-package co- ordination and interface issues and ensure each party is amending their work as the design progresses.
* Review design information for compliance, buildability, quality and value engineering opportunities.
* Ensure commencement and setting out information requirements are notified to designers.
* Identify critical quality and tolerance issues to the construction package managers as installation progresses.
* Liaise on technical and construction issues with relevant parties during construction / installation.
* Ensure methods and programmes for commissioning / testing are available for effective monitoring and completion of these.
* Expedite designers and trade contractors contributions to the project Health & Safety file / Operation & Maintenance Manual.
* Review design information for compliance, buildability, quality and value engineering opportunities.

Requirements

* Graduate in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical
* 5 years of experience of which the last 2-3 years should have worked in the same role. Experience in the UAE/GCC
