Technical Support Engineer - FAMCO - Abha, KSA

We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join Select Auto in Saudi Arabia
- Install, repair and maintain new and replacement generator systems.
- Inspect regularly all generator appliances and equipment to include the immediate maintenance and repair of non-functioning items; ensure the replacement of defective parts.
- Provide cleaning schedule for necessary equipment of generator.
- Ensure the generators are serviced on schedule and that they run smoothly without fluctuations.
- Inspect, test, evaluate, calibrate and update generator systems and wiring to improve reliability and to assure dependability and safety and compliance.
- Monitor and maintain adequate fuel supply levels for generator, including scheduling and supervision of fuel deliveries (Select assets).
- Monitors weekly generator performance to maintain communication system reliability.
- Interprets wiring diagrams in order to install generator systems.
- Instructs Select personnel in understanding generator system operation and repair.
- Communicates orally and in writing to notify supervisor of conditions of generators plus associated equipment, scheduling dates for repairs.
- Provides technical expertise to facilities personnel and outside contractors to assist them in understanding specific job requirements
- Supervises co-workers during the absence of area supervisor.
- Maintains cost, inspection, and maintenance records on generators and power systems to document maintenance work and equipment replacement.
- Trains co-workers to perform preventive maintenance, produce monthly reports, and repair equipment.
- Prepares reports of inspections, labour and material estimates to apprise supervisors of conditions of generators & associated equipment needed for repairs.
- Coordinates and directs other Select personnel in the temporary repair of remote generator systems.
- Maintains cost, inspection, and maintenance records on generators and power systems to document maintenance work and equipment replacement.
- Has the ability to understanding project planning to upgrade standby generator systems.
- Remains current on job specific expertise through various sources (e.g. trade publications, vendor communication, etc.) to keep abreast of the latest technological developments and products to improve generator reliability.

About your Skills:
- Repairing diesel engines.
- Repairing a full range generators and alternators (50 – 4000KVA but not limited).
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel generators powered systems.
- Testing electrical components and taking equipment readings with various tools and meters to determine appropriate repairs.
- The correct selection and safe use of various applicable hand, power and specialty tools.
- Troubleshooting diesel engines, 3-phase generators, and transfer switches as they apply to various equipment and systems when voltage, amperage, cycles and phases show defects.
- Installation support to emergency standby generator systems.
- Correctly applying methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair & renovation.
- Brazing and/or soldering.
- Precisely operate gauges and testing equipment.
- Locating and repairing defects and abnormalities in electrical components.
- Installing plumbing required for diesel fuels supply to generators.
- IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel, & Word. Practical experience of using laptop based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite etc.

Requirements

- Experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Qualification - City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, Supervisor management would be an advantage (i.e. NEBS).
- Minimum of 5 years experience within the same field
- Positive mental attitude, self-motivated and trustworthy to work effectively as a remote based person with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written presentation skills.
- High standards of cleanliness & personal presentation
- Ability to think on your feet, and function effectively in a fast moving business.
- Comfortable working in a hard driving well motivated team, of very focused people, with robust working relationships.
- A sense of humour helps.
