Test Equipment Engineer

Job description / Role

• To provide a testing and calibration service for the range of test equipment that are currently being used to support the SANG Signals communications network
• To be totally accountable for the Test Equipment Workshop Operations, Quality and Safety.
• To ensure that all test equipment is correctly identified, labelled and registered in accordance with the results of any testing and calibration service.
• To liaise with external support agencies to facilitate the calibration of any equipments which require specialist attention or equipment or tooling that is not available from within the SANG inventory. To obtain external qQuotes for adhoc or additional such external calibration services not already covered by a subcontract and s required and seek Line Manager Approval for the same.
• To maintain a nationwide register of all nationwide Tools and Test Equipment used by staff to support the SANG Signals communications network.
• To ensure that all equipments are periodically calibrated in line with the OEM recommendations, and tested in accordance with the established maintenance activities

Requirements

• Graduate of a recognised academic Electronics Maintenance and/or Repair Course.
• Have more than five years experience of Calibration Standards in the Telecommunication industry.
• Highly proficient knowledge of electronics and telecommunications, including access, switching products, analog and digital microwave radios and fiber optical networks.
• Computer Literacy with specific knowledge of: MS Word, Excel, Office., Visio and Access
• Knowledge on Test Equipments being used in maintaining Communication Systems, Power/Electrical Test Equipments and others.
• Knowledge of Terminologies being used on Test Equipment Calibrations and Measurements.
• Ability to make draft reports and letters on behalf of Line Manager.
