VMware Engineer

Job description / Role

Client is seeking an Arabic/English speaking VMware Engineer to work with their existing infrastructure team to implement, manage, maintain, enhance, deploy, troubleshoot and VMware environments in order to fulfill assigned tasks.

Provide skilled and experience supporting IT Operations including not limited to all areas of the Virtual Infrastructure, server management, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing/executing complex technologies, involved in performing upgrades to systems, deploy new systems, create, document and update standards/policies/procedures.

Design/promote system improvements, and provide recommendations for enhancement to the operational competencies for infrastructure.

Requirements

Key accountabilities and Activities include the following:
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
- Support existing VMware vSphere environments
- Plan and suggest hardware and software configurations/upgrades to Operation department
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports of (IMOI) department / section to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
- Receive tickets from the concerned party, in order to review it and categorize the trouble.
- Analyze the trouble using the right methods, in order to identify trouble cause.
- Implement the proper method to solve the more sophisticated troubles, or forward it to the team lead, in order to implement the proper method.
- Plan and execute needed application and systems upgrade.
- Implement a regular based health check, to ensure the security and stability of virtual the infrastructure system.
- Verify backup system, in order to ensure their heath and reliability in needed situations

Please note that to be considered for this role, you are already working in Saudi Arabia and either a Saudi National or have a transferable Iqama.
