Job description / Role
Our client is a leading international Oil & Gas Operator who are currently seeking an experienced staff Senior Carbonate Geologist to be based in Madrid
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Providing advice and technical support accurately and timely on carbonate plays and reservoirs to the Exploration and Development teams
* Responsible for geological evaluation, reservoir characterisation and modelling for carbonate projects
* Guiding seismic interpretation and data integration on carbonate plays
* Location, planning and optimisation of appraisal and development wells in carbonate reservoirs
* Ensure technical integrity and quality for all work undertaken and ensure the improvement of processes and practices
* Lead and represent the carbonate subsurface discipline in technical meetings and data-room activities
* Mentor junior staff on carbonate geology
Requirements
* MSc or PhD in Carbonate Geology
* MSc in Petroleum Geology preferred
* Minimum 10 years' experience as a Development Geologist focusing on carbonate reservoirs
* Strong technical knowledge of carbonate depositional systems, processes and reservoir characterization disciplines
* Experience in well log correlation, core and cuttings description, core analysis and carbonate petrography
* Presentation and writing skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Fluency in written and spoken technical English
