With Dubai gearing up to host the 2020 World Expo and with Abu Dhabi realising its 2030 Vision, the need for qualified UAE National professionals will increase and competition for this talent will only intensify, especially in the above mentioned industries. Ironically, most of these industries are not preferable options for Emirati nationals in particular, leading to a renewed dependence on expatriates. However, by 2020, this trend is expected to shift significantly to increase the representation of Emirati nationals in these emerging and dynamic sectors. The private sector will need to be pro-active, and work along with the public sector to make itself more attractive to UAE nationals. Emirati Talent and Leadership Development is absolutely crucial to inspire the national workforce and lead change efforts. Retaining And Engaging Nationals will be a key challenge in the private sector. In a 2014 report by the HR Observer, more than 170 polled companies in the region said that employee engagement was their number one priority for 2015 and beyond.

All these topics and challenges will be addressed in real-life case studies, interactive panel discussions and roundtables at the Emiratisation Summit and led by Emiratisation pioneers and advocates.
