Employment: Full Time

Our client, one of the leading financial institutions in the GCC are looking to bring on an Account Coordinator for one of their branches in Abu Dhabi. The role will report to the GM Abu Dhabi Branch.

Job Context:
- This position requires understanding of corporate banking products, especially in selling asset-based products.
- The position requires an energetic and aggressive selling mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English are required
- Some understanding of core banking systems is an added advantage

The incumbent is primarily responsible for providing effective support to the Corporates Banking department by providing relationship management support to Corporate customers.

The incumbent will be responsible for proactively assisting in managing client relationships (within the delegated authority), preparation of credit proposals and maintaining all documentation after receipt in accordance with credit policies and procedures.

- Achieve an overall annual budget as set at the beginning of the year

Principle Responsibilities:
- Assist in the monitoring and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on periodic basis.
- Support in the upholding and monitoring the full compliance with prevailing best corporate banking documentation practices.
- Perform credit documentation for the Corporates Banking department, in accordance with set policies and in coordination with Credit Risk.
- Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors as and when required.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all other related functions to achieve the Group’s goals/objectives.
- Develop and manage on day-to-day basis potential target name corporate customers and assigned portfolio of existing customers to meet assigned financial and non-financial targets, in compliance with established credit policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintain high credit documentation standards, including but not limited to updated policies/procedures and compliance with the same.
- Prepare comprehensive credit proposals for new/prospective customers that adequately address all relevant risk factors and satisfy minimum acceptable standards of the Bank.
- Obtain all requisite facility and account documentation to ensure each customer’s file is current with valid legal documentation to secure/protect the Bank's interests including but not limited to the Articles of Association and any amendments thereto, financial statements for a minimum of 3 years, the company's annual report to its shareholders (publicly held companies only), Commercial Registration, list of authorized signatories, corporate client details (name, type of business, shareholders etc…) and details on the credit request and amount.
- Maintain the timely review of credit applications and documents within set turnaround time, in coordination with Credit Risk. Support the Head of Corporates Banking and Relationship Managers in identifying weak aspects of credit applications.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reviews for existing portfolios that adequately address all relevant and current risk factors and the latest developments in the industry, market and business and identify and timely report on all negative events and early signals on potentially problematic accounts/relationships.
- Maintain the records and, organize and maintain corporate banking customer files.
- Support in the preparation of periodic Management and Business Information reports to the Head of Corporate Banking and to other executive management of the Group to appraise them about the unit’s performance and the assigned portfolio of clients.
- Possess a good knowledge of corporate banking products, documentation, regulatory requirements and report preparation together with a superior knowledge of controls.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Requirements

- University graduate with at least 2-3 years relevant experience in the banking industry, preferably with local/Gulf experience.
- Well-informed of the market competitive structure, industry practices and any regulations for the corporate banking client segment.
- Good people relationship and credit documentation skills and awareness of risk management concept and practices.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Understanding of the relevant laws, regulations and practices pertaining to Corporate Banking products.
