Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a bank looking for an accountant to perform professional accounting, budget analysis and reviews, and provide comprehensive accounting knowledge and technical assistance for departments; to develop, prepare, audit, revise, and/ or maintain a variety of accounting, budget and financial reports, statements, transactions, and records in accordance with applicable laws, codes and regulations; and to perform related duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities:
- In depth understanding of general principles and accounting procedures, auditing, budgeting and bookkeeping
- Prepare Journal entries or bank reconciliations in order to maintain segregation of duties within accounts dept, account work papers, schedules and charts
- Designs, recommends, and implements changes in accounting systems, accounting policies, information storage and retrieval systems
- Monitors, analyzes, and reviews financial summary and detailed reports, internal/ external reports, budgets, documents, or records for accuracy, proper account and charges
- Analyzes, reconciles, and/or evaluates the accuracy of general ledger, accounting details, revenues, expenditures, accounting/budget/financial reports, Daily Journal, cash balances, treasury placements & inter-branch transactions
- Ensuring proper amounts, receipt, and classification, processing documents for input, and posting year end deferred revenues and accounts receivables/payables as necessary

Requirements

- University graduate
- 8 years of experience in the financial services industry specifically in accounting functions
